Biography:
I am the current lab/project manager of the Digital Learning Lab at UCI's School of Education, and the former project manager of the NSF-funded Project SPROUT (formerly WIDER EAGER: Documenting Instructional Practices in STEM Lecture Courses, under Mark Warschauer, PI; Grant #1256500). As the manager of SPROUT, I worked with a team of over 20 undergraduate research assistants at UC Irvine’s School of Education, where I helped students develop skills in research methodology, data analysis, and academic writing domains.
I graduated from UCI's Campus-wide Honors Program with dual degrees in Psychology and Social Behavior and English, along with a minor in Linguistics (2014). I am dedicated to teaching communication skills and have experience working with first-year students as a tutor and lab administrator for the Humanities Core Course Writing Lab at UCI. I previously managed a virtual writing project that teaches the basics of academic research and writing to undergraduate students located all over the U.S.
My personal research interests include attention and working memory as implicated in ADHD and mood disorders (especially anxiety); I am excited by all the things that neuropathology can teach us about neurotypical function and cognition, and passionate about pedagogical, social, and behavioral interventions to assist individuals with attention or anxiety disorders in the pursuit of education. My current research collaborations include UCI's Child Development School, which studies and implements innovative interventions for children with ADHD, ASD, and ODD, as well as social and executive function disorders more broadly. Along with collaborators at UCI's School of Education, I conduct research on the psychological correlates of poverty with particular attention to clinical populations and promising interventions. I also volunteer with the Adolphs's Emotion and Social Cognition Lab at Caltech, where my work focuses on adults with ASD.
Awards:
UROP Researcher of the Month
Sircello Award for Breadth and Depth in Academic Study, Campuswide Honors Society
Chancellor’s Award of Distinction
